Frank and Joe Hardy are ‘retired’ boy detectives who live in the town of Bayport. Their Dad is a real Private Eye and they are following in his footsteps, but after a few unfortunte problems in investigations in previous books they have agreed to give up their sleuthing – OR ELSE! But can they give up? No they can’t!
An old friend asks them for help when her brother and others become victims of creepy pranks perpetrated by Seth Diller, who is an amateur film-maker and is making a movie called ‘Panic Project’. But after the Hardy Boys have dealt with Seth’s pranks, things keep happening in the town, and they become less ‘pranky’ and more serious and dangerous.
